Camping
Enjoy the complete festival experience by camping
along the historic Suwannee River for the weekend. The park has plenty of sites available
with complete facilities for both RVs and tent campers.
Primitive Camping:
Primitive camping is
first come, first serve. The
full festival and Sat/Sun festival ticket price includes park access, parking
& primitive camping fees. There are primitive
camping areas in different parts of the park. Check out a great new
primitive area that is out behind the horse camping - the park calls it the "80
acres" - it's a little farther out, but has wonderful wooded camping galore.
In addition you have primitive camping all over the park, including the Pine
Field, the Bird Sanctuary, Rees Lake and the Farm Field (the drum camp is
located here so if you want quiet - this is not the place to be).
Quiet camping is available upon request when you check in at the
front gate. Remember that arrivals
for the festival prior to Thursday, require additional camping fees to the park.
Electric/Water Site Upgrades:
Please note that the park assigns specific sites when you reserve your space. Please call early if you have a
special site you want to upgrade to, or if you want to camp in upgraded sites
beside or near other people. Primitive camping is included with your full
festival ticket.
The cost for upgraded camping is now
a flat fee, rather than a per person fee as in the past. If you would like a site with electric, water, and/or
sewer, you should purchase an upgrade by calling the park at
386-364-1683.
Your festival tickets should
be purchased by calling Magnolia Music at 904-249-7990 or visiting our
online
store. During Festival Week there are no
phone sales and internet sales are limited to early in the week.

Rees Lake
Camping - New Information for 2007:
Many of our festival folks camp around or near Rees
Lake, where both Slopryland
and the Bill Monroe Shrine is located.
At the inception of our festivals, a large percentage of our festival goers only
wanted primitive camping, so the park accommodated our
request to keep the Rees Lake Area available for primitive camping by leaving
these electric sites turned off.
During the last few years,
there has been more demand for water and electric camping sites and requests for
electricity by festival goers camping in the lake area. This led the park
to consider making these water and electric sites available for reserved upgrade
the same as other upgraded sites in the park. There was concern that
this change could effect the dynamics of this very important part of our
festivals, so for the past two festivals, the park has allowed people
camping in the Rees Lake spots that are water and electric to pay an additional
fee to get the electricity turned on during the festival. This
process worked well, so after evaluation, the following procedure is in place
for the numbered sites in Rees Lake.
All Rees Lake area sites are
first come first serve. If you select a site that is numbered, you should
first set up your campsite and then go to the Spirit of the Suwannee Park Office
to pay for an upgrade for that site number. The park is charging is a flat
fee per site (not per person). The park will schedule your activation and
let you know when it will be turned on. Their plan is to activate sites on
an hourly basis as needed. The park requests that if you will not need or
desire electricity, that you choose another spot around the Lake or in another
of the primitive camping areas. There is a new primitive camping area back
behind the horse camping called the "80 acres". While it is a little
further away from the festival area, it offers some wonderful, wooded camp
spots.
Click below to link to the
park's campground map. All numbered spots on the map are water and
electric. The new "80 Acres" is located past horse camping and barn noted
on the map. The map doesn't show it, but there are now roads to that camping
area. Remember, If you want a water and electric spot in the Rees
Lake area, then get to the festival early as it's first come first serve still.
But if you want an upgraded water and electric spot reserved in advance and held
just for you, then call the park and reserve one of the upgraded sites in
another area of the park. All specific questions regarding camping,
camping fees and reservations should be directed to the Spirit of the Suwannee
Music Park office at 386-364-1683.
